Position Summary:
The Warehouse Manager oversees the daily operations of our client’s warehouse, ensuring efficient food storage, inventory management, and distribution. This role includes supervising warehouse staff, maintaining compliance with food safety regulations, and managing logistics to support the organization's mission of hunger relief.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Ensure the safe and efficient storage, handling, and distribution of food and other materials.
Develop and implement warehouse operations policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate regular cycle counts and audits.
Monitor and manage warehouse equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and operation.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, OSHA regulations, and other applicable guidelines.
Coordinate with the inventory control team to align warehouse operations with overall inventory strategies.
Collaborate with transportation teams to optimize distribution logistics.
Develop contingency plans for emergency situations or high-demand periods.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork among staff and volunteers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of warehouse management or logistics experience, preferably in a nonprofit or food distribution environment.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
