Warehouse Manager
======== Essential Job Functions ========
• Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and
distribution mission in an effective and efficient manner. Interviews and recommends
applicants for hire as warehouse associates and/or drivers.
• Plans and coordinates work, trains, motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of
warehouse associates/drivers; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling
equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and
disciplines as necessary.
• Evaluates the performance of warehouse operation and distribution; maintains accuracy and
efficiency by streamlining the operation procedures.
• Monitors material handling from receiving to distribution and ensures being compliant with
applicable federal, state, local regulatory procedures, including DOT, OSHA, or IFTA.
• Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety protocols.
Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
• Responsible for day-to-day delivery planning for truck drivers, including delivery routes and
loading.
• Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
• Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control and assures timely data
entry.
• Maintains the equipment structure to accomplish the warehouse and distribution mission in a
safe, effective manner. Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe
transport and storage of all materials.
• Researches material handling equipment and cooperates with purchasing department to
ensure procurement quality in terms of the equipment performance, safety, reliability and
cost.
• Responsible for all truck and forklift maintenance; well documents the maintenance history
for governmental or internal audits.
• Meets with other managers and supervisors to confer about products, receiving/shipping
times, and distribution issues, among many other concerns.
• Anticipates and requests funding for future personnel requirements. Anticipates and requests
funding for future material handling equipment.
• Responsible for and participates in semiannual inventory count (possibly on a weekend).
• Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
• Obligation to answer to all management as requested.
======== Physical Requirements ========
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to walk, talk, hear, climb, balance, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Specific vision abilities are required, including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral
vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and maintain clarity.
• Ability to handle and move up to 165 pounds assisted occasionally
• Able to drive for a majority of the daily working hours occasionally
