Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, shipping, receiving, and quality control.
- Plan and coordinate the logistics of material transfers, installer material shipments, and delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Implement and enforce warehouse best practices, including safety protocols, compliance with regulations, and Lean methodology principles.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, including daily physical counts and cycle counts, to maintain accuracy and reduce discrepancies.
- Develop and document processes to streamline workflow, optimize storage capacity, and improve overall efficiency.
- Train and supervise warehouse personnel, providing clear direction and mentorship to build a cohesive and productive team.
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track and manage inventory, orders, and materials effectively.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, including damaged or misplaced inventory, and provide solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and proper handling of tools, vehicles, and machinery within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with other departments, including purchasing and production, to align operations with business needs and goals.
- Proven experience in the garage door industry or a similar environment with high-volume inventory management.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges proactively.
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Familiarity with Lean methodologies and continuous improvement strategies.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) to interact with team members and cross-functional partners effectively.
- Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Bilingual proficiency is a significant advantage.
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse machinery is preferred.
- Leadership skills to motivate and manage a team toward achieving operational goals.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to improve warehouse performance metrics.
