Fulfillment Strategies International (FSI), a leading provider of product fulfillment and distribution services, is hiring an experienced WMS Software Implementation Specialist. The successful candidate will learn all facets of our operations, workflows and related processes to be managed with the WMS software. This position is part of a team that supports all day-to-day activities related to the WMS. This is an ideal opportunity for a motivated individual to use their technical support and training skills over a diverse range of projects in a fast-paced, challenging environment. FSI is growing, and as the complexity of our business also grows, we are creating a more structured system support process. FSI has developed an internal issue tracker/ticketing system where WMS users log issues/questions/opportunities to be assigned and addressed by the WMS Support Team.
Position Responsibilities/Activities:
- Learn all aspects of the Warehouse Management System software.
- Configure, test, enhance, and design warehouse operations solutions.
- Be a part of the go-to team companywide for any and all things related to the Warehouse Management System, including onboarding new clients and project implementation.
- Work with the Documentation Specialist to create and update a robust documentation plan for the WMS functions and workflows supported by the WMS.
- Help encourage a better culture of knowledge management and retention of proper procedures.
- Use critical thinking skills to suggest more effective processes and workflows, create and maintain them.
- Responsible for the efficient transmission of information and the storage and analysis of information by means of computer networks and systems, the Internet, and computer databases.
- Will train associates on updated WMS software workflows, processes and use of menus on handheld devices in the warehouse.
- Will test and coordinate modifications to the system when needed and troubleshoot problems when they occur.
- Maintain and monitor internal WMS Issue Tracker ticketing system. Ability to review various issues and questions to prioritize, assign, research, work with the software provider and provide clear and timely communication to the users on their reported issues.
- Maintains system efficiency.
- Will work with IT Management to ensure the site’s computer system allows all the components, including computers, the network, and software, to work properly together.
- May be required to be on call outside of normal business hours in order to resolve system failures or other problems.
- Effectively communicates relevant IT-related information to site management and client management (as appropriate).
- Will work with corporate IT to resolve complex issues.
- Will rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
- Listens to users, plans with management, and sets objectives to provide continuous improvement of the WMS software system.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3-4 years’ experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting WMS software. Special consideration for specific Deposco system experience.
- Prior Warehouse management or support interaction with Warehouse operations is desired.
- A minimum of 3-4 years of IT experience is required; this is not an entry-level position.
- The ability to speak very clearly and be comfortable conversing with both technical staff and end users is critical.
- Be technically minded, with prior experience in an IT or other technical department preferred.
- Be comfortable working with daily software users one on one to support routine issues reported or questions. Working with end users to identify better processes.
- Ability to learn our in-house software applications, work with developers, and work with our Documentation Specialist to create detailed documentation.
- Ability to effectively work on multiple projects and manage multiple priorities at one time.
- Ability to create flow charts and data flow diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A history of self-directed success, working with enthusiasm and motivation.
- Comfortable using PowerPoint to deliver presentations in front of a small to mid-sized group. Most of the training will be one on one or in small groups and specific to a particular process or app. Training in larger, corporate settings is anticipated to be infrequent.
***This position primarily requires onsite presence. Please note that telecommuting generally will not be possible, and this is a full-time position.
Additional Skills:
- Prior experience with at least one help authoring or XML authoring tool is a plus.
- FSI uses Microsoft Office for business productivity. Familiarity with other Microsoft products and technologies such as Azure is a plus.
Education and Related Experience:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems or Computer Science is preferred.
