SEEKING LEAD LINE COOK for WAREHOUSE 101 BAR VENUE:
BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Prepares food according to standardized recipes & approved methods in WH101, also supervise all team members on assigned shift.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; reports safety issues to Safety Committee & assist in creating plans with the Executive Chef to ensure safety issues are addressed.
- Responsible for F&B staffs' execution of guest interaction standards as outlined by Executive Chef and Department handbook.
- Conducts and monitors job specific training in accordance with the New Hire Training Program.
- Resolve employee conflict in absence of the Chef / Sous Chefs and assure team compliance with gaming and management practices.
- Prior leadership experience required, overseeing daily kitchen operations.
- Review departmental policies and procedures assuring compliance with regulatory and management practices.
- Maintains acceptable levels of Prepared inventory for back of the house operations.
- Cooks food according to recipes and procedures provided.
- Complete and monitor production, prep, Transfer and cleaning lists provided.
- Assign duties on assigned shift. Check for food quality with appropriate labels and dates.
- Works closely with the Supervisor to promote teamwork between front and back of the house personnel.
- To ensure that personnel, receive the proper allowance of breaks and meal periods.
- Assume the role as a Leader, Line Cook, Dishwasher, and Kitchen Technician
- Keep open lines of Communication with staff and supervisors
- Must be able to hold crew accountable
- Perform tasks or duties delegated from the Chef / Sous Chefs.
- Train staff in all areas if needed and convey excellent service standards for our guest and staff
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
- Minimum three years exposure to commercial kitchen environment preferably in the casino or hotel industry.
- Must be 18 years of age, with GED or HS Diploma.
- Must have valid Oregon Food Handlers permit or the ability to obtain one, and a working knowledge of the regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated aptitude for cooking.
- Must be able to follow written instructions.
- Must have the ability to provide instructions to others verbally and in written form.
- Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies

Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business schedule frequently demands work hours in excess of a standard workweek. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently. Occasionally sit. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
