About the Job
This leadership role oversees a business unit responsible for managing public sector projects across North Texas. Responsibilities include driving business development efforts, managing a team of professionals, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. The role emphasizes strategic planning, product development, maintaining quality standards, and resolving issues that arise throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and strengthen relationships to grow the business in sectors like utilities, roads, and drainage.
- Lead the creation of medium and long-term strategic plans for the unit.
- Spearhead business development by focusing on both existing and new clients.
- Provide technical support for business development, including preparing proposals, presentations, and coordinating office efforts.
- Ensure the quality of project deliverables through a robust quality assurance program.
- Oversee the performance of design teams on various projects.
- Develop and monitor operational budgets for the business line.
- Accountable for the financial success of a unit with an annual revenue target of $10 million.
- Regularly report to senior leadership on the division’s performance and participate in monthly strategy and operations meetings.
- Represent the company in industry and community organizations.
Required Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in Texas.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years leading a business or practice area with a focus on growth and client development.
- 20+ years in planning and designing public sector projects.
- Familiarity with the North Texas region.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
