Job Summary
Lead one of the fastest growing businesses at Medline! The Vice President of Product Management for Lab Diagnostics will lead a team of 16 individuals (may have multiple direct reports, including Director and Senior Manager level employees). This high performing team is responsible for Medline’s Lab Diagnostics business segment, totaling over $400 million in revenue. The VP of Product Management is responsible for the financial growth of their business, as well as the management of product sourcing, new product development, marketing, and sales support. This individual will develop the business and marketing strategies for a wide variety of complex product lines. They will also develop and lead customer presentations for large Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs).Job Description
Responsibilities include:
Negotiate best in class pricing, marketing programs, and access to new products and markets with vendors. Visit vendors to build relationships, develop products, and train Medline personnel in the product usage. Coordinate marketing and promotional materials with vendors and develop custom items and programs.
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans and promotional programs for existing and/or new products, including product strategy development, pricing strategy, collateral creation, and brand management.
Develop and mentor staff through detailed on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities, and performance management processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
Review monthly financial performance and determine contributing factors. Offer solutions for detrimental sales or cost trends. Prepare product forecasts to include revenue and expense expectations. Analyze sales trends over time and impact of competitive strategies. Support forecasts and budgets with appropriately detailed marketing plans.
Work with cross functional teams to analyze seasonal trends, forecast demand, and manage inventory in order to eliminate surplus and reduce backorders.
Determine strategy for GPO and IDN contracts for assigned product categories.
Develop and deliver training and sales materials for internal stakeholders, sales forces, and customers.
Conduct market research, and translate that research into potential new products, new suppliers, and line extensions.
Occasional travel with the sales force to support product conversions or respond to escalated critical issues.
Required Experience:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or Clinical.
Work Experience
At least 10 years of marketing, sales, product management or clinical practice experience (preferably in the healthcare industry).
At least 4 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work.
Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.
Willing to travel up to 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$201,760.00 - $302,640.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
