Customers Bank has an immediate opening for a Portfolio Manager in our Financial Institutions Group (FIG). The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing the loan and deposit portfolio for our Broker Dealer clients, while also being client facing and a strategic part of building out the broader FIG client base.
Success of the position will be measured based upon the achievement of the documented goals and objectives within the FIG Team as they relate to this role. We are looking for a highly motivated, team player, who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Manage Financial Institutions loan and deposit portfolio.
- Customer interaction with current and new FIG clients, obtaining all necessary documentation to meet annual corporate & FIG underwriting and account opening standards.
- Be able to monitor and proactively manage all aspects of the loan and deposit portfolio including loan delinquency, loan reviews, renewals, managing interest rate plans and profitability tracking, while having strong communication with senior leadership at the bank.
- Ability to perform service requests on existing loans and deposits, working in concert with our loan operations and treasury services teams to ensure completion in a timely fashion.
- Ability to review and analyze financial information.
- Visit customers along with the Banking Group Head to establish and maintain positive relationships and cross sell other bank products and services. Travel required10% to 20% of the time.
- Actively involved in the community with ability to represent the bank and for personal development.
Must Haves:
- College degree or 5 + years of equivalent banking experience
- Prior commercial banking experience within the Financial Institutions space or Securities Industry
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Some previous credit experience (1-2 years)
- Ability to manage time and complete assigned annual reviews in a timely manor
- Strong organizational skills
- Time management, Task prioritization, Multi-tasking, and Attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently and in a small team environment
Nice to Haves:
- Understanding of loan/deposit documentation
- Underwriting or Origination experience
- Previous experience working with Attorneys and Clients in the Financial Institutions space
- Bloomberg experience
- Treasury Management Sales experience
Technology Skills:
- MS Office applications (will always be listed here)
- Salesforce or nCino experience
