Samaritan Health Services (SHS) seeks an innovative and strategic leader to serve as its Vice President, Patient Care Services (CNO) at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, OR.
Established in 1913, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center is one of five Level II trauma centers in Oregon. It is the largest hospital in Benton, Lincoln and Linn counties. It offers dozens of medical specialties, including comprehensive cancer care, a full-service cardiology and cardiovascular surgery program, neurosurgery, orthopedic and spine surgery, inpatient mental health and other regional services.
The VP of Patient Care Services Duties:
Scope of Responsibility
Service lines of responsibility include Trauma Services and Transfer Center, Inpatient Case Management, Critical Care, Med Surg/Oncology, Women’s Services/Pediatrics, Inpatient Mental Health, Inpatient Dialysis, ED, Centralized Staffing, IV Therapy, Supervisors, Periop, Intraop, Sterile Processing and Endoscopy.
Additionally, the VP Patient Care Services will maintain strong, collaborative relationships both internally and externally with strategic partners.
As a critical member of the leadership team, the VP must be a self-starter and collaborative leader with excellent communication skills. Candidates must show demonstrated experience of their ability to quickly grasp the regulatory environment and other complexities and trends unique to the healthcare industry and have experience successfully driving campaigns that delivered on transformative objectives. The VP must be a skilled communicator, possess an instinct for win-win solutions. They will proactively engage and develop relationships with colleagues to ensure that the interests of all constituents are understood and represented.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
- Current unencumbered Oregon RN License required
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Business or a related field required
- Ten (10) years of experience in nursing with five (5) years in comparable healthcare leadership roles required
- Experience or training in nursing theory, nursing process and nursing practice standards required
- Experience or training in concepts and principles of administration, organizational development, change theory, research, leadership and systems theory required
