Overview:As the owner of payment strategy and operations at Patelco, this leadership role is responsible for developing, recommending, and executing payment solutions and processes for Patelco, with a focus on continuous innovation, automation, and transformation. Responsibilities include directing the Payment Operations, IRA/HSA and Merced Support teams in all aspects of operational support to ensure goal achievement, as well as enhancing productivity and member satisfaction. The Vice President of Operations identifies problems and proactively engages with leaders across the organization to develop solutions that will create efficiency, reduce risk, and benefit the member and the credit union.
Responsibilities:- Develops the strategy and leads the implementation of money movement products, processes and operations.
- Accountable for the overall performance of the Payment Operations department at Patelco. Oversees the teams that manage the day-to-day business and identifies and manages risk. Develops dashboards, metrics, and reporting to understand and direct the business.
- Leads the operational implementation of corporate initiatives.
- Manages the effectiveness and continually enhances the efficiency of the department through transformational projects such as automation, digitization, and streamlining processes. Acts as a change agent to improve operational infrastructure and scale operations as the credit union grows.
- Hires, mentors, and develops first class talent and supports retention.
- Develops lasting and productive relationships throughout the organization and gains input from all levels of the organization to ensure alignment of strategic objectives, implementation, and decision-making including Delivery, Technology, Compliance, Accounting, Business Transformation, and Fraud Prevention leadership.
- Ensures compliance with financial and operational standards and procedures including internal and external audits and other regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates ongoing knowledge of payment eco-system, trends, opportunities, and threat in this space.
- Responsible for vendor relations including contract negotiations, vendor reviews, and vendor management (ex. Fiserv and Asensus).
- Creates operational policies, standards and procedures for the Payment Operations department.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 15+ years of operations management experience
- 15+ years’ experience within the financial services industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of ACH, check clearing, wire transfers, subpoena and the Federal rules and regulations that govern these transactions.
- Core system experience preferred and proficient in IRS rules and reporting.
- Must be familiar with accounting principles, general ledger and payment settlement.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
Physical Activities/Requirements
- This position is based in our Dublin, Ca. headquarters.
- Some travel required.
$225k-$240k/ year
