We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Permanent VP of Preconstruction in our finance department. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, leading and managing all preconstruction activities. You will be responsible for the conceptual design build, structure estimating, and facilitating the general contractor in the commercial construction process. If you have a strong background in concrete tilt-up and have previously held a position as a Vice President or VP of Preconstruction, then we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage all preconstruction activities, including but not limited to, conceptual design build, structure estimating, and facilitating the general contractor.
2. Oversee and direct the commercial construction process from conception to completion, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
4. Develop and implement effective preconstruction strategies that align with the company's financial and strategic objectives.
5. Review and analyze project proposals and bids to determine the most cost-effective solutions.
6. Provide leadership and guidance to the preconstruction team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
7. Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and vendors, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
8. Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably as a VP of Preconstruction or Vice President.
2. Proven experience in the finance industry, with a strong understanding of commercial construction and concrete tilt-up.
3. Exceptional skills in estimating, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate a team, with a track record of delivering successful projects.
5. Proficient in using industry-standard software and tools.
6. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
8. A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
