We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of IT to lead the technology function at our vessel company specializing in government and defense contracts. This strategic leadership role will focus on three core areas: Cybersecurity, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with Workday, and Maritime Asset Management. The VP of IT will oversee the direction, implementation, and ongoing operations of IT infrastructure and services, collaborating with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and third-party vendors to ensure that the company's technology solutions meet both operational needs and security standards.

- Cybersecurity Leadership:
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing optimization of a robust cybersecurity strategy to safeguard sensitive company data, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and government security standards.
- Collaborate with external security experts and third-party vendors to identify and mitigate potential cybersecurity risks, responding to security incidents when necessary.
- Ensure that IT systems, networks, and data are secure, protected against threats, and compliant with industry standards, particularly for government and defense contracts.
- ERP Management (Workday):
- Oversee the implementation, integration, and optimization of Workday ERP solutions across the organization, ensuring alignment with business processes and operational requirements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and third-party ERP experts to ensure that financial, human resources, and operational data are managed efficiently and securely.
- Continuously improve ERP processes and leverage data analytics to optimize organizational performance and decision-making.
- Maritime Asset Management:
- Manage the integration of IT systems that support the tracking, maintenance, and management of maritime assets critical to government and defense contracts.
- Collaborate with MSPs and third-party providers to ensure seamless integration of maritime asset management software with ERP and other business-critical systems.
- Support maritime operations by ensuring that IT systems meet the technological demands of managing a global, asset-intensive fleet.
- Leadership and IT Strategy:
- Define the long-term IT strategy for the company, ensuring that technology investments are aligned with the companys business objectives and growth plans.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on technology trends and recommending innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure that the companys technology infrastructure and services scale with the growth of the business, enabling successful contract execution and customer satisfaction.
- Vendor and MSP Management:
- Manage relationships with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and third-party vendors, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective IT services in alignment with service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Oversee the selection, evaluation, and management of external technology partners to ensure they meet the needs of the organization and comply with security and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external providers to ensure timely resolution of any IT issues and smooth execution of IT projects and initiatives.
- IT Service Management:
- Ensure that IT service desk functions are optimized through close collaboration with MSPs, ensuring the timely and efficient resolution of technical issues.
- Oversee incident management, service requests, and IT asset management functions, working with external teams to maintain service quality and support operational continuity.
- Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in Information Technology roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity (VP, Director, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in managing complex IT systems within government and defense contracting environments.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity, ERP solutions (specifically Workday), and maritime asset management.
- Skills:
- Expertise in developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies in compliance with government regulations and industry standards.
- Strong technical proficiency with Workday ERP and cloud ERP systems.
- Familiarity with maritime asset management systems and their integration with enterprise software.
- Experience in working closely with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and third-party vendors to deliver IT services.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or similar cybersecurity certifications.
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification for IT service management.
- Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
- Technologies:
- Workday ERP (advanced knowledge required)
- Microsoft 365 Suite
- Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure
- Familiarity with maritime asset management technologies and systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and general IT infrastructure technologies.
