Job Details
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced VP of Finance & Accounting for our Energy division. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in our company's financial growth and stability. The VP of Finance & Accounting will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities, including strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and risk management.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and lead the finance and accounting department, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Develop and implement strategic financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the company's growth and profitability goals.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the Executive Management team, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and risks.
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
- Manage and oversee the year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with the Executive Management team to identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies.
- Implement and manage effective tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
- Provide financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets, and business drivers to support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, banks, and auditors.
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Must hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance and Accounting
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Extensive knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions considered an asset.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and apply financial data to make sound business decisions.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
