VP Corporate Tax - Danvers, MA - Investment Management

A leading investment manager with a focus on a distinctive array of actively managed return-oriented investment strategies is looking to hire a VP of Corporate Tax to their growing team. The VP will play an integral role in the global tax provision, financial reporting, and compliance processes. They perform all aspects of the tax provision in house. They outsource their tax compliance to their CPA firm, but the team plays an active role in managing the requisite data and reviewing returns, as well as managing tax audits and controversies.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

Manage key aspects of the tax provision and financial reporting processes including...

• Forecasting the annual effective tax rate and recording quarterly tax provision in accordance with ASC 740-270
• Calculating the annual consolidated tax provision in accordance with ASC 740
• Overseeing tax provision workflow within Tax and with Corporate Accounting
• Preparing and reviewing quarterly and annual SEC disclosures, including income tax footnote and other tax disclosures
• Supporting the tax provision process for foreign entities
• Assisting in maintaining and improving ICFR controls and documentation

Tax Compliance

Play an integral role in all aspects of tax compliance including...

• Managing portions of the global compliance process, working with external service providers, and leveraging internal resources to complete filings timely and efficiently
• Overseeing estimates and extension calculations
• Assisting with foreign compliance items including local returns, estimated tax payment calculations, and Country-by-Country and Pillar 2 reporting requirements for various jurisdictions
• Supporting other compliance processes, including tax information reporting and withholding as needed
• Responding to federal, state, local, and foreign tax inquiries and audits

Other Responsibilities

• Act as the tax resource in various internal working groups, bringing problem solving, risk management, and innovation suggestions to bear
• Lead special projects and department initiatives

Requirements and Skills:

• Minimum of 7 years of corporate tax provision and compliance experience, including hands-on preparation of provisions and returns
• A bachelor’s or other degree in accounting; public accounting firm experience and a CPA (or progress toward a CPA) is desirable
• Experience with partnerships and/or international tax compliance is a plus
