Plans and leads efforts to develop and implement operating systems administration projects related to system administration. Responsible for project planning, documentation, and project budget.

The Systems Administrator IV will be responsible for:
- Performing project management activities for core infrastructure and virtualization components, including VMware Infrastructure, Citrix platform, Active Directory, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), storage systems, and backup environments. Represents ITS at project coordination meetings to identify tasks and resources within ITS to support projects.
- Architecting, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing virtualization and core infrastructure environment as required to meet the needs of the Children's Hospital requirements.
- Evaluating current and projected demands, new technology trends, and recommends improvements to the current architectures, procedures, and configurations to maximize utilization of existing resources as well as potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Implementing and maintaining security and compliance measures to protect critical systems from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with Hospital regulations.
- Providing status reports and feedback to management. Interacts closely with other Hospital departments to better serve the end user community.
- Resolving complex problems escalated by ITS staffs.
- Documenting procedures and knowledge base for the virtualization and core infrastructure environment.
- Implementing and maintaining security and compliance measures to protect critical systems from cyber threats while ensuring compliance with Hospital regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or closely related field is required
- Six years of work experience in IT is required
- Analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses, and summarize the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs that cross department/divisional lines.
- Proficient in core IT Infrastructure technologies including VMware infrastructure, Citrix platform, VDI, Dell EMC storage and other enterprise storage systems, enterprise backup technologies, Active Directory and Entra ID.
- Advanced knowledge in server hardware, networking, storage technologies, and software-defined data center(SDDC).
- Proven knowledge in security best practices, vulnerability management, threat management, healthcare compliance, and incident response.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well-developed writing skills.
