This position is responsible for planning, engineering, implementing, and supporting private virtualized environments. This includes all aspects of the virtual server life-cycle, and includes creating on-premise hosting facilities, upgrading, troubleshooting, configuration management, monitoring, and business continuity. This position will also be responsible for researching new technology related to virtualization and assessing their value to business operations. The candidate must possess strong verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.

This position is responsible for planning, engineering, implementing, and supporting private virtualized environments. This includes all aspects of the virtual server life-cycle, and includes creating on-premise hosting facilities, upgrading, troubleshooting, configuration management, monitoring, and business continuity. - Have a strong understanding of troubleshooting and configuration of VMware servers to include protocols and switching, best-practice configurations, connectivity and networking concepts.
- Actively participate in the design and architectural decisions for cloud environments.
- Integrate cloud operations with legacy processes, with an understanding on new cloud principals CICD Pipelines, Software/Infrastructure as a Service.
- Work with operations teams to implement system changes and upgrades: Firmware/Hardware compatibility bundles, hypervisor versions, new storage solutions, and networking best practices
- Ensure all hardware and software components are meeting service levels and security guidelines
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies based on business requirements provided by team members.
- Craft and develop cloud solutions, translating business requirements into scalable, flexible and secure cloud architectures.
- Desired understanding of storage arrays, hyper-converged, VSAN or similar product offerings.
- Desired understanding of vRealize Operations, PowerCLI, Log Insight, Recovery Point for VMs, VMWare's Site Recovery Manager, and/or VMWare Horizon.
- Desired expertise in design, implementation and management of compute virtualization technologies – VMWare, Xen, KVM, AWS EC2/ECS/EKS and/or Azure Virtual Machines.
- Experience is desired in design and implementation of container/ orchestration stack for Linux and Windows systems – Docker, Packer, AMI, AWS SSM, AVM, Swarm, Kubernetes, AWS ECR or similar technology.
- Experience is desired in the design and implantation of a virtual data center in public cloud providers including technologies supporting Networks, VPCs, Security, DNS, Computer, Storage, Persistent storage technologies, EMR, Transport and Data structures.
- Desired B.S. in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5-10 years of IT related experience.
- Experience with VMware vSphere 6 and above – Horizon VDI experience a plus
