About the Role:
As a Virtual Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring overall student success by collaborating with staff members and families to customize academic programming for individual students. Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering proactive guidance curriculum to both individuals and groups.
Providing responsive counseling and programming to address individual and group needs.
Reviewing transfer student transcripts and ensuring appropriate course placements.
Maintaining and reviewing transcripts for active students and overseeing credit award procedures.
Creating and managing student graduation plans.
Offering career readiness curriculum and assisting in the creation of career plans.
Delivering Social-Emotional Learning curriculum to support student well-being.
Developing and maintaining Student 504 plans.
Analyzing student data to provide insights for appropriate academic programs and interventions.
Traveling within the state to support testing efforts and school events as required.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Valid Washington Counselor license.
Bachelor's degree plus at least one year of previous experience in counseling and/or advisement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with the ASCA model.
Experience with K-12 online learning.
Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal laws, including mandated reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite Products.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly, demonstrating sound judgment.
Capacity to manage difficult or emotional situations and make evidence-based decisions.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
Customer service orientation.
Capability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
Successful completion of federal and state criminal background checks.
