About the Role:
As a Virtual Medical Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in providing care to patients as part of our care delivery team. Working remotely in a fast-paced, paperless environment, you'll perform both administrative and clinical functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practices while prioritizing patient care. From virtually rooming patients to managing in-baskets, insurance portals, and prescription refills, you'll apply your expertise to anticipate clinical team needs and enhance the patient experience.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Managing in-baskets, including calls, e-faxes, follow-up tasks, and prescription refill requests
Greeting and virtually checking in patients, ensuring a positive customer service experience
Rooming patients virtually, documenting vital signs, patient history, and current health status
Providing patient education, scheduling diagnostic tests, and processing authorizations and referrals
Collaborating closely with providers to deliver high-quality care and address patient needs effectively
Managing patient portals, ensuring accurate reporting and communication
Maintaining thorough and accurate records and charts
Proactively assisting teammates and recommending process improvements
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
Minimum of 1 year of experience in an outpatient setting (3+ years preferred)
Experience with EMR systems, preferably EPIC
Cantonese or Mandarin bilingualism preferred
