Virtual Design Lead Coordinator - Piping - Southland Industries Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY

Create system drawings and sophisticated building models (BIMs) for preconstructionand construction projects utilizing Brandt’s computer-aided drafting system and relatedequipment.

What you’ll do:

1.Performroutine tasks andcomplex assignments applying advanced knowledge
of computer-aideddrafting system standards, practices, and techniques.

2.Apply judgment and sounddecision-makingwith respectto developing new
drawings andmodels.

3.Schedule project designcoordinationmeetings with architect, engineers,
general contractor, subcontractors, and anyother relevant parties.

4.Set up Navismodels for specific areas to be coordinated.

5.Communicate collisions with virtualdesign team and assist with resolving

conflicts.

6.Perform quality assurance/quality controlchecks on 3-Dmodels.

7.Maintain filetransfer protocol (FTP) for each project.

8.Uploaddrawingmodels and Navis modelstoFTP sites.

9.Effectively communicate with internal and externalcustomersduringthe drafting

and construction process.

10.Ensuremodels are subsequently updated to reflect as-built conditions.

11.Develop increased proficiency in design system operation (with a resulting
increase in productivity).Become adept at utilizing allsoftware options and

resolvingcomplex design issues.

12.Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.

What you’ll need to be successful:

·Working knowledge of 3-Ddrafting software

·3-5years oftrade-specific experience

·Strong written and verbal skills

·Commitmenttodetail, deadlines andmaintaininglabor estimates

·Must be aself-starter, with the ability to workwell individually and as part of ateam

What you bring to the table:

·High school diploma/GED

·2-3years ofexperience performing computer-aideddrafting
