Commitment:
- 12-16 hours per week for the duration of the internship. The weekly schedule is flexible to accommodate class and work schedules.
- Must be available for orientation on January 7th, 2025
- Must be available for final presentation of project on May 21st, 2025
Stipend: Unpaid; school credit can be earned for this internship in most cases.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and creative Intern Videographer to join our team. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in creating engaging video content for marketing and promotional purposes. With Butterfly Pavilion celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025, there will be many remarkable stories to tell. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for visual storytelling, access to videography equipment, and proficiency in video editing software. This position will report to the VP of Marketing and Communications and collaborate closely with team members to capture the essence of our brand and mission.
Upon orientation completion, the Videography Intern will work with their supervisor to develop a work plan and project outline goals by month. Interns are required to develop a term project and presentation. Additional information for this project will be provided upon starting.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Shoot and produce high-quality video content for various platforms, including social media, website, and internal channels.
- Editing: Edit raw footage into polished videos that effectively communicate our brand message and captivate our audience.
- Pre-Production & Planning: Assist in concept development, storyboarding, and planning to ensure each video meets project goals and deadlines.
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual standards.
- Content Management: Organize and manage video assets, keeping an archive of raw and edited footage for future use.
- Meet deadlines and expectations to complete a project over the duration of the internship. Professionally present this project to Butterfly Pavilion team members at the end of the internship.
- Provide miscellaneous support for needs from marketing and communications team
- Attend on-site events, as needed
Qualifications:
- Education: Current student enrolled in a relevant program (e.g., Film, Media Studies, Marketing, Communication, or a related field).
- Equipment: Must have access to personal videography equipment (camera, microphone, etc.) that produces high-quality video images, and a laptop or computer with editing software. All video submitted will become the property of Butterfly Pavilion, to be used in any electronic media.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Portfolio: Portfolio or reel demonstrating videography and editing work.

Additional Requirements:
- Must be available for orientation on January 7th, 2025

- Must have reliable transportation to and from both Butterfly Pavilion and the offsite office
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age

- At Butterfly Pavilion, the team member is occasionally exposed to moderate to loud environmental noise for extended periods of time. While performing the responsibilities of this position, the team member is required to talk and hear. The team member is often required to sit and stand, use their hands and fingers, to handle/feel/grasp. The team member is occasionally required to reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The team member should be able to lift, carry and items up to 50 lbs.
