Job Summary
Produce and edit video lectures and additional content for Online Programs in the David Eccles School of Business. Work with a team to convert in-class education to an online learning experience.
Responsibilities
- Be a forward thinker/creative: conceptualize, storyboard, collaborate, coordinate logistics, capture videography, select music tracks and edit video for use in online classes. The successful candidate will be able to perform all duties listed below independently and/or in concert with fellow teammates depending on the assignment’s needs.
- Support the Media Production Manager in securing locations, appearance releases, scouting and other logistics as needed.
- Shoot, edit videos, and create motion graphics, animation and other special effects under the direction of the Media Production Manager.
- Understand and implement audio mixing, music mixing and sound effects. Provide color correction for all video content. Execute compression and encoding of video content for online use, Research stock footage and stock photo elements, as needed. Support the multimedia team via conceptualizing, storyboarding, shooting and editing videos, as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent video library and uploading finished projects to media channels with captioning.
- Staying abreast of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines as it applies to videography and other multimedia assets.
- Train and mentor student employees and assure the quality of their work.
- Collaborate with faculty and university partners including participating in creative concept development and brainstorming for visual content.
- Keep abreast of new creative executions, developments, and technology in the multimedia field.
- Report to supervisors for editing assignments.
- Complete video modules and editing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Upon need, can be point of contact for video recording. Responsibilities include studio set up, camera operation, live-editing management, and interaction with Eccles School faculty.
- Other duties as assigned.
Due to the growth of Online Programs in the Eccles School, additional opportunities may arise, such as assistance with in-class recordings, marketing material development, and quality control.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Film or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); two years of demonstrated professional experience in the operation of digital/non-linear editing systems; experience with graphics/VFX software; familiarity with CODECs and compression basics and related software; familiarity with all aspects of television video and audio production including field and studio applications is preferred. Familiarity with PBS and FCC rules and regulations guiding content and presentation of television programming for broadcast is required. The ability to work under deadline pressure, to make creative decisions, be motivated and organized to meet deadlines while assuring high technical and aesthetic standards is required.

Preferences
- Demonstrated record of producing agency-quality, published visual content via an online portfolio.
- Advanced experience using the Adobe Creative Suite products with emphasis on Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Lightroom, and Photoshop.
- Substantial experience managing multiple projects with tight deadlines. Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and improve procedures with limited supervision.
- Highly-organized with a strong record of working independently, meeting deadlines and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a record of collaboration and teamwork.
- Must be comfortable working and communicating in an academic environment with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
- Attention to detail is a necessity.
- Must be able to operate basic camera and microphone equipment.
- Experience in animation is a plus.
- Evenings and weekends assignments are required as needed.

Work Schedule Summary: Time is spent in both the professional office, studio, and classroom environments. Regular office hours, as well as evening and some weekend hours. Remote work may be required when necessary.This job is considered “essential,” requiring the employee to be on campus in person.
