POSITION SUMMARY: Reports to an SVP or Director. Independently performs discipline assignments and leads projects of various scales and takes an active role in business development and project pursuits.
CGL is a provider of justice facility planning, design, and program management and maintenance solutions to justice facilities and other public facilities throughout the U.S. and internationally.

What you will do
- GENERAL:
- Same as Associate Vice President, plus:
- Effective and persuasive leadership, comfortable with all levels of staff, public and other.
- Management skills and ability to manage day-to-day project and operational responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills to work effectively with various officials, staff, and clients.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong project oversight skills, ability to review and edit technical reports, presentations, drawings, etc.
- Ability to understand, “read the room”, and manage high-profile, sensitive, and/or controversial political situations.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to exercise sound, independent judgement.
- Thorough knowledge and use of CGL internal Project Management protocols.
- Knowledgeable of the contracting process with clients, associate partners, and consultants, in consultation with Market Sector Director or ROL.
- Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the industry and among clients and peers.
- Speaks at conferences, writes articles, participates in or chairs committees.
- Ability to identify, champion, and close new business 360 opportunities.
- Independently prepares RFQ/P, with strategic input from Market Sector Director and/or ROL.
- Ability to identify and follow-up on the project leads, coordinate BD pre-sale activities and build relationship with potential clients, with input from Market Sector Director and/or ROL.
- Independently sets strategies for pursuit with input of Market Sector Direct and/or ROL.
- Develops capture plans for assigned project pursuits, with input of Market Sector Director and/or ROL.
- Ability to negotiate scope and fees, develop fee proposals, and develop MOUs by shadowing supervision of a Market Sector Director and/or ROL.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphic skills.
- PLANNING:
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations.
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge of planning principles and understanding of government policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge of research methods and statistical principles.
- Demonstrates considerable knowledge of recent developments, current literature and sources of information related to criminal justice.
- Ability to run and manage a small to large size planning project independently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and 14 years or Master's Degree and 12 years professional experience in planning, criminal justice, or public administration. Required and
- 1-3 years supervisory experience Required
- 10+ years 12 to 14 years planning, criminal justice, or government experience. Required

- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and public relation skills to work effectively with various officials, staff, and clients.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations.
- Competency in various computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam.
- Competency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign a plus.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and extensive criminal background checks.
- Requires a detail oriented, self-starter, who takes initiative, prioritize, and multi-task in busy environment.
- Works under close supervision and in a collaborative team environment.
- Planning or Industry Certification Required and
- Must have a valid driver’s license. Required
Compensation
We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally $186,000, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the general Hiring Range for the role. Hiring at the top of the range is reserved for exceptionally qualified candidates. We consider internal and external factors as a part of every final offer.
