As we continue to expand, we are looking for a highly organized, strategic, and dynamic Vice President of Operations to help streamline and elevate our operational workflows, ensuring the successful and efficient delivery of projects.
About the Role
The Vice President of Operations will play a critical role in overseeing the end-to-end execution of projects from the moment a client purchase order (PO) is received through to the final delivery. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this position is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of three Directors—Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management—while driving operational excellence across the organization. The primary goals for this role are to finalize and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), build a robust Quality Management System (QMS), and potentially lead the effort toward ISO certification. This position requires a leader who can balance operational strategy with day-to-day execution, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Additionally, the VP of Operations will be instrumental in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, high-quality performance, and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and support the Directors of Engineering, Supply Chain, and Project Management. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture, empowering leaders to drive success within their teams while promoting accountability, open communication, and a shared commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
- Operational Execution: Oversee and streamline the execution of projects from receipt of the Client PO to final delivery. Ensure the successful coordination between the Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management teams, optimizing workflows processes to meet project goals.
- Quality Management: Develop and implement a Quality Management System (QMS) that ensures all projects meet high standards for quality. Take a hands-on approach to oversee quality control efforts, ensuring that all work, whether in design, supply, or construction, adheres to specifications and client expectations.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Finalize the development and roll-out of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each department. Ensure SOPs are consistently followed and refined over time, with a focus on operational efficiency and project delivery outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving: Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational functions. Identify areas for improvement in project execution, address operational challenges, and work proactively to implement solutions that enhance overall productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Client Satisfaction & Communication: Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by managing expectations, resolving issues, and maintaining open and clear communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle. Address any concerns quickly and efficiently, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of projects.
- ISO Certification (Future Focus): Lead efforts to develop and potentially pursue ISO certification. This includes driving the development of a Quality Management System (QMS), maintaining compliance with applicable standards, and ensuring that all internal processes are aligned with international best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the COO, senior leadership team, and other departments to align operational goals with overall company strategy. Regularly report on operational performance, project status, and key metrics to ensure transparency and alignment with the broader business objectives.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the industrial engineering and construction sector, with a proven track record of leading operations and project execution teams.
- Experience managing and leading other leaders, particularly Directors or senior managers in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Project Management.
- Experience with Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) is highly preferred, but NOT required.
Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with a humble, servant-leadership style. Ability to inspire and empower teams while maintaining a focus on results and continuous improvement. Excellent internal and external communication skills. Ability to articulate ideas clearly, build strong relationships with stakeholders, and ensure client satisfaction through effective communication.
Operational & Organizational Expertise: Highly organized with the ability to think strategically about organizational operations and optimize workflows across multiple departments. Proven ability to balance big-picture vision with detailed execution, ensuring that operational goals align with the broader business strategy.
Process & Quality Management:
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs to standardize and optimize operations. Knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and experience in establishing or leading efforts toward ISO certification is a strong plus.
Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement: Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify operational bottlenecks and develop solutions that drive continuous improvement in project delivery and team performance.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
Pay range and compensation package
Salary Range - $170 - 200K + Benefits Package + Bonus up to 40%
