We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President of Talent Acquisition to lead our talent acquisition strategy and operations of the recruiting team. This position will play a pivotal role in scaling our organization by attracting and retaining top-tier talent for WVP-supported veterinary practices. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the veterinary landscape, a strategic mindset, and a passion for building high-performing recruitment teams to meet our rapidly evolving needs. As Vice President of Talent Acquisition, you will drive innovative sourcing strategies, optimize recruitment processes, and enhance the candidate experience. Your leadership will be key in building a diverse, high-quality workforce while supporting the growth and operational objectives of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of recruitment professionals, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the growing demand for talent within the veterinary space.
- Recruitment Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive recruitment strategy aligned with the organization's long-term goals.
- Talent Acquisition: Oversee all aspects of talent acquisition, from job requisition and sourcing to offer negotiation and onboarding. Focus on attracting top-tier veterinarians, veterinary technicians, customer service staff, and corporate professionals.
- Industry Insights & Networking: Build and maintain a network of key industry relationships with veterinary schools, associations, and professional networks to stay ahead of talent trends and expand candidate pipelines.
- Process Optimization: Continuously assess and improve recruitment processes and tools to ensure efficiency, scalability, and a positive candidate experience. Lead the adoption of technology and recruitment analytics to enhance decision-making.
- Employer Branding: Enhance the organization's employer brand through targeted campaigns, employee testimonials, and thought leadership in veterinary recruitment.
- Metrics & Reporting: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for recruitment success, providing regular reports to senior leadership and making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with departmental leaders across the organization to understand talent needs and advise on hiring strategies for both short- and long-term requirements.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local hiring laws, as well as industry-specific regulations governing veterinary professionals.
Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in recruitment, with at least 5 years in a senior or executive role, ideally within the healthcare, veterinary, or related industries. Experience in implementing an ATS to support high volume of requisitions and an exceptional candidate experience a plus.
- Leadership: Proven experience leading and developing high-performing recruitment teams, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and retain top talent.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the veterinary industry, including the challenges and nuances of recruiting veterinary professionals (e.g., veterinarians, vet techs, support staff) in a highly competitive market.
- Recruitment Strategy: Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing comprehensive talent acquisition strategies that attract diverse talent and support organizational growth.
- Data-Driven: Proficiency in using recruitment analytics, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and other HR technologies to make informed decisions and optimize hiring processes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders, hiring managers, and candidates alike.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certifications is a plus.

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers competitive compensation along with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and more depending on location.
