We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our sales team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. The successful candidate will understand what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way. This role requires a deep understanding of the sales process, superb leadership skills, and excellent abilities in business and strategic planning.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.
2. Develop and manage sales operating budgets.
3. Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly.
4. Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
5. Meet with key clients, assisting sales representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
6. Coordinate liaison between sales department and other sales-related units.
7. Review and analyze sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness.
8. Direct product research and development.
9. Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence.
10. Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching, and performance monitoring of sales representatives.
11. Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
12. Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
13. Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience of 5+ years in a senior sales role; VP of Sales experience is a plus.
2. Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
3. Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.
4. Proven ability to position products against competitors.
5. Demonstrable experience in developing strategic business plans.
6. Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
7. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
8. Proficiency in Salesforce, Hubspot, and other sales-related software.
9. Experience in ecommerce sales is a strong advantage.
10. Strong understanding of how to manage KPIs and sales goals.
11. Solid business acumen, management reporting, and problem-solving skills.
12. Exceptional negotiation skills and communication abilities.
13. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field; MBA is a plus.
