Responsibilities:
As the Vice President of Preconstruction, your responsibilities will include:
1. Leading and managing all preconstruction activities, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
2. Developing and implementing preconstruction strategies, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
3. Overseeing the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of commercial construction projects.
4. Collaborating with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are identified and incorporated into the project plans.
5. Negotiating contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
6. Conducting risk assessments and developing risk mitigation strategies.
7. Providing preconstruction expertise and advice to the project team and stakeholders.
8. Keeping abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive.
9. Participating in client presentations and business development activities.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Permanent Vice President of Preconstruction, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 8 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, and commercial construction.
2. Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
3. Proven track record of managing all phases of preconstruction activities for large-scale commercial construction projects.
4. Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
5. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
6. Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
7. Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
8. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
