Job Summary and Qualifications
The role of the VP of Operations is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to the facility’s strategic plan. This includes acquiring resources and collaboration of team members to successfully coordinate assigned projects. As a member of the management team, the incumbent participates in institutional planning, policy development, priority setting and management decisions. The incumbent will also have full operational responsibilities for departments assigned by the supervising executive.
- You will function at an executive level in an active leadership role with the hospital’s medical staff leadership, hospital senior leadership, and management team.
- You will be directly responsible for managers overseeing departments and other service lines as assigned by the COO; directly responsible for the improvement of the hospitals facilities in assigned areas, including construction or renovation of structures and the purchasing of new equipment; and responsible for department leaders in establishing measures of performance, improved productivity, quality improvement, cost controls and efficient utilization of facilities.
- You will assess and improve department’s/service area’s performance on an ongoing basis and gather information, draw conclusions and implement improvements.
- You will encourage and consistently reinforce staff compliance with organizational policies, safety regulations, infection control procedures, ethics and compliance, risk management activities, standard precautions and proper body mechanics.
- You will develop and integrate departmental goals and objectives to support the Hospital’s vision, mission and strategic plan.
What qualifications you will need:
- Masters degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital leadership role
- Member of ACHE preferred
- Current knowledge of Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines, regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced skills in financial management. Strong leadership qualities and experience. Strong management skills.
Riverside Community Hospital is a large acute care facility with 517 beds, established in 1901. It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center and has a HeartCare Institute that offers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. Riverside has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which it is very proud of.
