Job Details
The Vice President of Marketing will lead the company's marketing department, which includes brand marketing, digital marketing, and traditional marketing. This role demands strong management experience and a proven track record of leading a diverse team in planning, developing, and implementing corporate marketing strategies to sustain market leadership and drive growth in dynamic business environments.
Key responsibilities focus on generating qualified leads through various tactics such as strategic planning, advertising, corporate communications, public relations, market research, direct marketing, and other traditional media channels.
Additionally, the VP of Marketing will oversee the marketing staff, manage relationships with external vendors and third parties involved in the marketing mix, and compile comprehensive performance reports that track against the marketing plan and budget.
The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate the entire lead generation and sales cycle. They will report on results using KPIs such as ROI, CPL, and CPA, and execute a marketing plan that can be monitored weekly. This role also involves managing and contributing to the launch of weekly campaigns across online, digital, and print media, TV, radio, outdoor, direct mail, email campaigns, and marketing automation. A deep understanding of modern marketing and analytics, along with expertise in extracting and analyzing metrics, is essential.
The VP of Marketing will also manage the creation of compelling marketing collateral and form partnerships that generate additional qualified leads and cross-sales. Knowledge of manufacturer co-op advertising and the ability to maximize available funds beyond standard program guidelines is an advantage.
This hands-on position requires high-level strategic thinking and active involvement in all aspects of the company’s sales and marketing objectives to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Refine and execute a comprehensive strategic marketing strategy to support the company's growth objectives and enhance its reputation in the marketplace.
Lead and develop marketing department personnel and external resources to implement strategies.
Develop marketing materials, effective lead generation programs, and sales collateral. Collaborate with the Director of Brand Marketing to plan, manage, and execute digital marketing strategy, content strategy, editorial calendar, and social media schedule.
Create and implement SEO strategies to ensure on-site optimization, improving quality traffic, website rankings, lead volume, and brand awareness.
Work with other departments to develop effective market segment strategies.
Manage annual marketing budgets in alignment with corporate financial objectives.
Develop creative communications, public relations, and advertising plans to drive profitability and growth, and manage relationships with external marketing, advertising, PR firms, SEO, SEM, and social media partners.
Lead promotional programs and exhibitions.
Analyze product and brand performance using internal and external data sources, and adjust strategies as needed.
Monitor competition and conduct competitive and post-mortem analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs.
Develop, implement, and analyze qualitative and quantitative market research.
Drive the creative strategy of all marketing materials, including image selection, copywriting, and overall graphic layout.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or technology required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
20+ years of experience in a senior marketing leadership role in a corporate environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with all departments and staff.
Significant experience with lead generation and direct response advertising.
Strong background in all aspects of marketing.
Excellent skills with Excel and spreadsheet creation for data analysis.
Strong CRM experience, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent.
Experience on the client side in a similar role is a plus.
Proficiency with WordPress, website development, and maintenance.
Comprehensive understanding of SEM, SEO, paid social media, and high proficiency in Google Analytics and other analytical tools.
