Vice President of Manufacturing (Medical) - Cardinal Health

About the Job
Our Global Medical Supply Chain & Manufacturing business is currently looking for a Vice President of Manufacturing that will directly lead a team of Manufacturing Site Directors in 8 US locations inclusive of approximately 3000 employees. He/she will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of operating performance, safety, and engagement goals at each of these facilities. The Vice President of Manufacturing reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and will work closely with the business leadership team to set and deliver against both short-term and long-term business commitments.
The VP will be expected to promote a culture of employee engagement, manager effectiveness, and accountability through a clear understanding of KPIs and a consistent communication around our progress against them. She/He will also direct the management of capital assets to ensure proper capacity availability in support of business needs, lead and participate on cross-functional teams to drive implementation of manufacturing and sales/marketing, quality and safety initiatives, and direct the implementation manufacturing initiatives, as appropriate. The Vice President of Manufacturing must be a change agent and a transformational leader for network optimization.
Responsibilities:
+ Provides leadership and direction for multiple functional areas through site Directors; may also manage Managers
+ Deploys resources to achieve financial and business objectives
+ Shapes and integrates functional strategies
+ Has in-depth functional and business expertise
+ Applies business expertise to develop financial and operational objectives
+ Makes decisions, often difficult and/or unpopular, that support and drive the organization strategy; influences others to support the decisions. Fosters personal courage in others

+ Provides resources for developing skills/capabilities and creates unique development opportunities; serves as a resource and support for development efforts
+ Develops plans for managing talent inside and outside the organization and for improving leadership bench strength; drives the succession planning process
+ Sets aggressive function or cross-functional goals that support organizational goals
+ Ensures plans are in place to meet/exceed goals while providing motivation and inspiration
+ Ensures results are achieved by providing resources, removing obstacles and helping others envision the end result
+ Manages and deploys resources, leveraging knowledge of competitive advantage and profit drivers
+ Identifies internal/external business issues that may impact organizational results
+ Creates and sets strategy based on anticipated internal/external trends
+ Leverages relationships with key internal/external customers to support business needs and challenges
+ Creates innovative solutions that take into account a variety of business needs and shares key learnings with others
+ Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems
+ Creates systems and processes that enable and require people to challenge "traditional ways" and invent/apply "new ways", constantly emphasizing and demonstrating operational excellence and balanced risk taking

+ Negotiates with customer and/or organizational leadership through effective listening and communication to set priorities
+ Responsible for abiding by all company regulatory, EH&S requirements.
_Qualifications_
+ Bachelor's degree in related field desired, equivalent experience, advanced degree preferred
+ A minimum of 15+ years related work experience required, including 5+ years leadership experience preferred
+ Experience in managing multiple sites/locations; preferably with some operations outside the US preferred
+ Experience in manufacturing and materials management, with experience as a plant manager in a large corporation ideal
+ Developing business-specific strategies and implementing them
+ Experience in Operational Excellence (Lean Six Sigma)
+ Inspirational, influential and collaborative leader, motivator, and coach
+ Demonstrated experience in leading transformations and network optimization
+ Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and drive change
+ Financial and business savvy coupled with the ability to analyze metrics and manage a P&L
+ Ability to manage multiple projects
+ Ability to travel 75%, booking travel according to Cardinal Health’s travel policy.
+ Ability to work remotely from home/field requires a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet.
Anticipated base salary range: $185,000 - $285,000
