About the Job
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as the Vice President of Finance and Operations at our esteemed institution. Reporting directly to the President and serving on the President's Cabinet, the VPFO will be instrumental in ensuring the fiscal integrity and operational excellence of the college.
Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership and supervision to maintain efficient operations of financial, facilities, safety and security, personnel, and informational systems.
Collaboratively prepare and manage the College's annual budget, monitoring and reporting activity throughout the year.
Develop and maintain internal controls for all finance activities and ensure compliance with legal budget requirements.
Oversee the solicitation of competitive bids for College purchases and investment of funds.
Work closely with College President on construction projects and capital improvements.
Review contracts and legal agreements, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
Prepare and submit accurate financial reports to relevant authorities.
Manage external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Supervise College Facilities, Police, Human Resources, and Informational Services departments.
Monitor legislative activity and advise administrative staff accordingly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Demonstrated leadership skills in supporting personnel across multiple departments.
Knowledge of budget creation, management, and forecasting best practices.
Experience advancing fiscal responsibility, personnel, and technological advancements, safety, and facility enhancement.
Familiarity with facility maintenance, public safety, human resources, and informational services.
Strong data analysis and strategic planning skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, student-centric environment.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Experience collaborating with executive leadership teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial information systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master of Business Administration degree with Finance, Accounting, or equivalent emphasis.
Five (5) years' experience as a successful financial manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ten (10) years' experience as a successful financial manager.
Five (5) years as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Assistant CFO in higher education.
Certified Public Accountant or equivalent certification.
Experience with Ellucian or equivalent system.
Supervisory experience in Facilities and College Police departments.
Working Conditions:
Regular work schedule, with occasional evening and weekend hours.
