We are currently seeking a dynamic Vice President of Finance to join our team in Needham, MA, situated within the thriving Greater Boston area. This pivotal role will offer direct reporting to the Chief Operations Officer and will encompass leading our financial operations and strategic fiscal planning. The ideal candidate will champion our annual operating plan, manage comprehensive financial reporting, and drive the enhancement of our financial systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute the annual planning and budgeting cycle to align with strategic objectives.
Produce and analyze monthly financial reporting packages to deliver accurate insights into business operations and drive informed decision making.
Develop and maintain a sophisticated financial model to support strategic executive planning and simulate various business scenarios.
Ensure the prompt preparation of financial statements to facilitate timely decision-making.
Oversee the establishment and maintenance of accounting policies and compliance protocols to uphold financial integrity.
Foster relationships with banking institutions and manage monthly compliance reporting.
Coordinate with external tax firms to manage tax preparations, extensions, and filings.
Guide updates to accounting practices to ensure alignment with current regulations.
Manage a comprehensive database of key performance indicators, delivering executive dashboards weekly to provide strategic insights.
Lead the preparation for audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and readily available.
Identify and implement process enhancements within the finance department to optimize efficiency.
Develop and support a high-performing finance team through effective recruitment, training, and motivational practices.
Oversee special projects and return on investment evaluations as directed by the COO.
Handle specific financial operations associated with project accounting, manufacturing cost accounting, including standard setting, variance analysis, and accruals.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Management or Accounting; an MBA with a focus on Accounting or Finance is preferred.
A minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including 3 to 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record as a Corporate Controller or similar capacity.
CPA certification is advantageous but not required; practical experience is highly valued.
