Position Overview

The Vice President of Business Development at Phil, Inc will be responsible for leading and executing the complete sales process, from prospecting and lead generation to contracting and signature. The ideal candidate is a hardcore hunter with a proven track record of securing 100% new business and acquiring new logos.

This role requires senior-level expertise with a minimum of 10 years in sales, particularly within pharmaceutical manufacturing, selling into pharmaceutical brands, and specializing in access, adherence, and affordability within the pharma space. The VP of Business Development will be adept at managing processes, leading lead generation efforts, negotiating contracts, and overseeing the sales cycle from inception to closure. The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to consistently achieve or exceed quotas, with a target range of $5 to $6 million. Additionally, maintaining an updated pipeline in a timely manner will be crucial to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

1. New Business Acquisition:
   1. Be a hunter with a focus on acquiring 100% new business and new logos for Phil, Inc.
   2. Target senior-level decision makers, with no entry-level sales involvement.
2. Complete Sales Process Management:
   1. Oversee the entire sales process, including prospecting/lead generation, discovery, capabilities presentation, pricing proposals, contracting, and securing signatures.
   2. Demonstrate proficiency in navigating and managing the sales cycle from initiation to closure.
3. Industry Expertise:
   1. Possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, specifically within the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector.
   2. Proven success in selling into pharmaceutical brands.
4. Specialization in Access, Adherence, and Affordability:
   1. Demonstrate expertise in selling into the access, adherence, and affordability segments within the pharmaceutical space.
   2. Understand the unique challenges and opportunities within this niche and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
5. Process and Pipeline Management:
   1. Effectively manage sales processes, lead generation, and contract negotiations.
   2. Keep the pipeline updated in a timely manner to provide accurate and transparent insights into the sales activities.
6. Sales Quota:
   1. Meet and exceed sales quotas, with a target range of $5-$6 million.
   2. Develop and execute strategic initiatives to achieve revenue goals and contribute to the overall growth of Phil, Inc.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales, with a focus on new business development.
2. Proven track record of success in selling into the pharmaceutical manufacturing sector, preferably with a specialization in access, adherence, and affordability.
3. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead and drive the complete sales process from prospecting to deal closure.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially when dealing with senior-level decision-makers.
6. Results-oriented with a commitment to meeting and exceeding sales quotas.
