Your Role
As the Vice President of Accounting and Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in [Company]'s future. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll safeguard and enhance our unique culture by leading the Payroll and Accounting Teams. You'll oversee daily, monthly, and annual financial operations and compliance, driving improvements in processes and procedures.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with GAAP and monitor changes in accounting standards.
Oversee billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and payroll operations.
Lead the period-end close process, conduct balance sheet reconciliations, and present variance analysis to senior leadership.
Maintain integrity and accuracy of financial statements.
Enhance internal controls and ensure SOX compliance.
Manage annual external audits and audit activities.
Prepare for future growth and alternative financial structures.
Mentor and develop team members, including payroll management and training.
Coordinate tax filings and manage treasury functions.
Collaborate with FP&A on budgeting and financial systems.
Qualifications
Authorized to work in the United States.
CPA license required; CMA preferred.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Experience in payroll management and leadership roles.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
Previous M&A or public company experience preferred.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
Restaurant industry experience a plus.
Additional Requirements
Ability to manage a 45-55 hour work week.
Minimal travel required.
Denver, CO base preferred; flexible and remote work options available.
Compensation
Base salary: $190,000-$220,000 (Bonus and equity eligible)
Actual compensation may vary based on experience, location, and other factors.
