Position Summary
We’re seeking a Brand/Direct Marketing/Business Development Lead who will own and drive growth, know what drives people to buy a toothbrush, and understand the dental channel. This role offers a unique opportunity to own our entry into the DTC oral health channel and later into the retail and dental offices and clinics. The candidate will have experience working with toothbrush or floss brands and selling products through clinical, dental hygienists, or DTC platforms. This role can start as a consulting position, with the potential to convert to a full-time role, with serious equity options, or start as a FTE and convert to W2 in 90 days.
Responsibilities
- Channel Ownership
- Oversee our dental channel, focusing on growth and market penetration through online/social, retail, and later dental professional networks
- Messaging Ownership
- Work hand in hand with our amazing VP Digital to refine and nail our DTC patient messaging
- Business Development Strategy
- Develop and execute a strategy with our CEO that leverages existing industry contacts and identifies new opportunities for Great Gums.
- Account Management
- Build and manage relationships with online partners, other oral health brands, dental professionals, and DTC platforms, driving sales and brand awareness.
- Metrics and Reporting
- Track performance metrics, provide regular updates and optimize based on results.
- Qualifications:
- Experience in the Dental Market: you need to know it cold and know where the bodies are buried: Background working with toothbrush or floss companies, specifically with a focus on retail, DTC and experience in the dental professional channel sure is a plus, and it’s got to be a brand or two we’ve all heard of and we want to hear your success stories
- Digital native. If you don't have an Instagram account, played with Canva, haven't in a past life mastered Hubspot or Salesforce directly, and love closing and partnering--this isn't for you.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the oral care industry and the competitive landscape. Can you walk the walls at one of the top 3 dental conferences and not get hugged 10 times?
- Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships with retailers, dental practices, and direct-to-consumer sales channels.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment (if you haven't worked at an early-stage company and aren't a self-starter--then um, no)
