Position Summary:
The VP Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic leadership in effectively deploying human capital to achieve targeted business results. The VP Human Resources will provide functional leadership across the organization. Partner with the corporate HR group, key company executives and functional leaders to enhance Reading's human resource's function, which includes building a high-performance, high-engagement culture that is reinforced by HR practices and programs that are aligned to the overall business strategy. The VP Human Resources is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.
Position Responsibilities :
- Act as a trusted advisor and business partner for the President and other senior business leaders, functioning as the expert on people and organizational issues.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine HR strategies that support the company's overall mission and goals.
- Provide proactive, strategic guidance and support for organizational planning and development initiatives that align the human resources agenda in support of key business strategies and initiatives.
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to the HR team and ensure the HR function is aligned with the organization's strategic vision.
- Play a leading role in helping to define, shape, and drive the processes and skills necessary for establishing and sustaining a positive team member culture.
- Lead the digital transformation of HR processes and systems, leveraging technology to streamline operations and enhance the team member experience. Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, digitalization, and process improvement with the HR function.
- Collaborate with HR Leadership across the J.B. Poindexter enterprise to share and leverage best HR practices.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to attract and retain top talent.
- Execute effective talent management strategies across the business with primary emphasis on employee engagement, recruiting, performance management, employee development and retention.
- Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Implement policies and procedures that comply with employment laws and regulations.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, and employee benefits to ensure competitive offerings.
- Implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Champion a culture of results orientation, collaboration, employee development, open communication, innovation, and inclusion to become an employer of choice.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Manage HR-related risks and provide guidance on legal and regulatory issues.
- Participate as a key member in due diligence and integration activity.
- Establish and utilize HR metrics to measure, analyze and communicate results.
Position Qualifications & Requirements:
- BS/BA from an accredited College/University; MBA/MA/PHR or SPHR preferred
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15+ years of experience in progressively responsible HR roles, including functional leadership in a high growth, multi-site manufacturing environment
- Strategic thinker with proven analytical, assessment, and leadership skills
- Track record of success in defining and delivering human resource programs across an organization of scale and across multiple divisions
- Strong ability to work outside traditional functional silos and build relationships across the organization at all levels, particularly with senior business leaders and executives
- Experience with core financial principles (Costing, Budgeting, Financial Analysis)
- High level of proficiency with MS Office and HRIS solutions. Ceridian experience a plus
- M&A experience a plus
- Ability to travel 30% of the time
