The VP, Commercial Analytics provides leadership in developing and executing the commercial planning and analytics functions. Provides team leadership for Commercial Planning, Primary Market Research, Forecasting (long range and demand), Secondary Data Analytics, Sales Operations, and Competitive Intelligence. This position contributes to and supports the company's research and development efforts to create high value therapeutics to address unmet medical needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Build and lead the Analytics function to inform business strategy and measure commercial execution. Work closely with cross functional team members in Marketing, Access, Sales, Commercial Operations, Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and Business Development. Provide reliable data driven information that can inform strategy, tactics, and decisions. Work closely with clinical development and regulatory to inform development plans. Lead the development of the long range and one-year operating plan. Lead through your team the development of the market research plan to launch and measure launch effectiveness. Lead through your team the development of the long range and demand forecast models. Lead the acquisition, storage, analysis of key secondary data to inform our business strategies, tactics, and decisions. Lead through your team the optimal design of the Nektar sales organization, the associated IC, and performance tracking. Lead through your team the design and execution of a well-coordinated competitive intelligence plan that informs commercial and development teams. Effectively develop and lead projects with commercial partners. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted. Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience, which includes experience leading multiple areas in commercial analytics (Commercial Planning, Primary Market Research, Forecasting long range and demand, Secondary Data Analytics, Sales Operations, and/or Competitive Intelligence), and experience in Oncology market (US and Global). Track record required of building and leading high functioning and collaborative teams. Ability to collect, synthesize, and present data to leadership and across the organization. Ability to lead and influence cross functionally. Experience in Melanoma, Bladder, or Renal Cell Carcinoma cancers would be helpful. Previous experience working in a commercial collaboration. Leads by example and models collaborative behavior by soliciting opinions but is also willing to make key decisions and is effective in getting the team behind the decisions. Excellent planning, organizing and management skills with an ability to excel in a dynamic, growing business environment is essential. Exceptional inter-personal, negotiation, communication and presentation skills (both oral and written) with the ability to interact with colleagues and partners, both technical and non-technical, at all levels of experience are expected. A proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners is required. Successful track record of hiring, training, and motivating teams to the highest level of performance.
