AZPetVet is seeking a Vice President, Clinical Care to join our team as we head into hyper-growth. We are a scaling family of animal hospitals with locations in Phoenix, AZ, with big plans! In 1984, the first practice (Arrow Animal Hospital) opened in the Glendale area. Today, that practice has grown to a family of 22 collaborative hospitals built upon the principle of outstanding patient care and client service.

The VP Clinical Care provides strategic clinical leadership functions for AZPetVet, resulting in continuous innovation, differentiation within the category and unparalleled clinical outcomes. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, the VP Clinical Care will provide leadership, strategy, and vision around practice transformation ensuring the AZPV clinical model addresses patient and client needs. The VP Clinical Care will set recommended policies and procedures and ensure all services meet the objectives of the organization. Additionally, the VP Clinical Care will help set and monitor clinical KPIs to ensure we keep patient care at the center of everything we do.
Essential Responsibilities
- Directs and oversees all aspects of the clinical functions of the organization, including development and implementation of policies and procedures pertaining to clinical staff and services.
- As part of the AZPV Executive Leadership Team, the VP participates in strategic planning and organizational development, and provides clinical expertise and leadership in the design and implementation of new projects and innovations across the organization.
- Works collaboratively with the Growth, Finance, Operations, and Human Resources leadership to ensure financial and cultural objectives are met.
- Oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with accreditation standards. Participates in development and implementation of quality initiatives including client and patient access and satisfaction, provider satisfaction, clinical outcomes, and process improvement.
- Acts as a champion of AZPV’s core values and creates a climate in which people want to do their best. Empowers others, invites input from others, shares ownership, and makes each teammate feel his/her work is valuable.
- Participates in public relations and other media as needed.
- Serves as the primary clinical contact for internal and external partners and successfully builds, develops and maintains essential partnerships. Actively reviews evidence-based practice standards, advances and recommends incorporating such standards and advances into the practices.
- Responsible for the evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of new technologies, services and medical products.
- Partners with instructional design team members for subject matter expertise and/or thought partnership to ensure the quality of the learner experience.
- Partners with all areas of leadership to establish, monitor and evaluate successful retention strategies.
Requirements/Qualifications
- A valid, state issued DVM license in good standing with a minimum of 8 years of practice experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience providing medical direction and leading clinical teams. Experience as the primary leader in a veterinary hospital environment preferred.
- Experience opening a de novo animal hospital preferred.

Base salary range $200,000-$220,000+. Role also provides significant bonus and equity opportunity.
