Role Summary
We’re seeking a future team member for the role of VP, Business Development to join our Dreyfus team. This role is located in New York – NY or Boston - MA.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Being commercially focused by meeting with clients, both in person and virtual, on a regular basis to drive sales growth; with client travel being a regular part of the role.
- Staying knowledgeable of client developments and representing the segment for the business
- Directly contributing to revenue targets of the business
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- 8-12 years of total work experience in Sales (preferably with a product concentration on liquidity and cash products, including 2a-7 funds, SMAs and ETF strategies.
- Strong knowledge of the Corporate, Insurance and Public institutional investor sectors, preferably with an existing book of relationships with the treasury and cash management groups.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in business management or related fields (MBA preferred)
- A strong team player who works well with others and builds a book of clients by collaborating across a wide organization of peers.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders such as the CIO, COO, Portfolio Management teams and Distribution management.
- Ability to travel to client offices in the Northeast of the United States as well as attend industry conferences in those territories and occasional conference outside of the region.
- Experience in a business development setting with individual targets and KPIs for it’s team members

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $93,000 and $170,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and company- sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance and market factors.
