About the Job
We are seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to join our team as the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the chief finance officer and a key member of the Chancellor's Cabinet and the Executive Council. Your expertise will guide the financial, administrative, operational, and strategic direction of our institution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Chancellor to develop financial strategies and budgets that align with the university's mission, vision, and goals. Provide expert guidance on all business operations, financial planning, risk management, and compliance.
Financial Oversight: Spearhead the development and implementation of comprehensive financial plans and budgets. Ensure the financial stability of the university through meticulous planning and analysis.
Operational Management: Oversee a broad portfolio including auxiliary services, IT, facilities, safety, and security. Implement policies and systems that enhance operational efficiency and compliance across the university.
Resource Stewardship: Foster a culture of transparency and stewardship. Develop innovative strategies for resource allocation that support the university's academic and operational goals.
Community and Partnership Development: Cultivate strategic partnerships with educational, corporate, and community organizations to enhance the university's resources and revenue streams.
Qualifications:
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. A Master's degree and/or CPA certification is preferred.
Experience: At least five years of progressive leadership experience in business, finance, or a related field, with a strong preference for experience in higher education or a public sector environment.
Skills: You should possess excellent strategic planning, financial management, and leadership skills. Strong communication abilities are essential for effectively engaging with all university stakeholders.
Additional Information:
The role typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule but may require additional hours as needed. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and operational effectiveness of our institution.
