As a vet assistant, you'll work to promote a friendly and professional environment where emphasis is placed on quality medical care, client education and teamwork.
You'll be instrumental in providing hands-on support to clients, patients and doctors with:
- Admitting pets for appointments (history, weigh & record vital signs)
- Patient restraint during procedures and examinations
- Assisting Veterinarians and Vet Techs during appointments.
- Cleaning and maintain the exam rooms.
- Preparing Vaccines, medications and lab specimens as directed.
- Fear Free environment( We practice Fear Free and low stree techniques!).
- Educating clients about routine care and wellness protocols.
- Adhering to hospital’s safety and wellness regulations.
Requirements to be considered for this position:
- Applicants must have at least 1 year Handling/Restraint with dogs and cats.
- Knowledge & proficiency with dog and cat restraint
- Strong customer service & problem solving skills
- High school diploma/GED required
- Assistant Certification a plus but not required.
