Overview
Walnut Creek Animal Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic experienced veterinary technician to join our family. Full time work is available with Monday-Friday shifts and rotation of Saturday mornings. We are a well established, AAHA-accredited clinic at the center of the DFW metroplex in Mansfield, Texas. Our team oriented practice focuses not only on providing the highest quality preventative care, internal medicine and surgery, but also on cultivating relationships with our dedicated clients and community. We are a close, dedicated family with clients of 30+ years, and employees of 20+ years looking for the right person to join WCAC. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures.
- Monitor Anesthesia during surgical procedure
- Administer IV catheters, prep surgical suite, and prepare surgical patients for surgery.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Conduct X-rays and assist with imaging procedures.
- Monitor animal health and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
- Provide animal restraint during examinations and treatments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennel areas.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and training techniques.
- Document patient records accurately and maintain confidentiality.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of essential skills that contribute to effective veterinary care:
- Proficient in veterinary terminology for clear communication within the team and clients as needed.
- Proficiency with animal catheterization for various procedures.
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care protocols to assist in emergencies.
- Familiarity with kennel management practices to ensure a safe environment for animals.
- Skilled in animal restraint techniques to safely handle patients during examinations.
- Competence in laboratory procedures for conducting tests accurately.
- Ability to perform X-ray imaging while ensuring patient safety.
- Understanding of dog training principles to support behavior management.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices for overall health maintenance.

Education
- LVT(Not required, but preferred)
Experience
- Veterinary Technician Experience: 3 year (Required)
