The Premier Veterinary Group in Grayslake (soon to be MUNDELEIN), IL is looking for a full time Veterinary Technician Learning & Development Specialist to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department!

Responsibilities
The Technician Leadership and Development Specialist (TLDS) works collaboratively and cross-functionally with local hospital teams to develop, organize and deploy Ethos educational initiatives at the local hospital level. The focus of this position is on planning, organizing, and directing the clinical training and professional development of all Veterinary Technicians. That includes the direction and oversight of all Technician continuing education (CE), both live and online through the VetBloom virtual learning environment. The specific area of focus for the TLDS is determined by the hospital leadership and may change over time as hospital needs fluctuate. In most locations, the TLDS works as an on-the-floor Technician while facilitating learning opportunities for fellow Technicians and Veterinary Assistants.
What you will do in this position:
Facilitate Veterinary Assistant and Technician training with a focus on direct hands-on clinical skills and/or by a train the trainer approach.
Plan and present Veterinary Assistant and Technician in-service training, with the support of the larger L&D Team.
Track training modules for all technician levels within the hospital.
Provide input into the Technician protocol practical development, standardization and sign-off process.
Directly train Veterinary Assistants and Technicians in all skill levels in accordance with the written protocols.
Working with Clinical Supervisors, facilitate learning and development plans for Veterinary Assistants and Technicians including the effective, timely protocol sign-off process and direct training.
Work collaboratively with the local Medicine and Operational, and Regional L&D and Event Management teams on the agenda planning, speaker identification and general support of continuing education events for Ethos Technicians and rDVM teams.
Strives to provide an environment conducive to learning and encourages a culture of learning within the hospital and consistent with the Ethos mission, vision and values.
Education, License and Job Requirements:
BA/BS preferred but not required.
Certified, Licensed or Registered Veterinary Technician designation is essential.
Schedule will vary and may include days, nights, and weekends.
Skills and Experience:
Proficient in basic, intermediate, and advanced technical skills.
Minimum of 5 years experience as a veterinary technician essential.
Strong interpersonal and teaching skills are critical for success.

Qualifications
- Certified, Licensed or Registered Veterinary Technician designation with ICU experience is essential
- Minimum of 5 years ER/ICU experience
- Schedule will vary and may include days, nights, and weekends
- Proficient in basic, intermediate, and advanced technical skills
- Strong interpersonal and teaching skills are essential
- Demonstrate solid veterinary skills, highest level of client and patient service and be a role model for the team
Responsibilities
