Established in 2013 in the family-friendly, lakeside community of Wylie, TX, Lake Lavon Animal Hospital is a privately-owned companion animal and exotics practice (experience/interest in exotics is not required). The practice was designed to focus on surgical, medical, and wellness cases with no boarding, grooming, or weekend hours. We are a caring and passionate group who love what we do, and this shows in how we look out for each other, our clients, and patients.

As a Receptionist you will:
- Receive and place calls to clients for a multitude of purposes including appointment scheduling and medication requests.
- Maintain proper documentation on client and pet records.
- Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
- Assist clients by providing necessary instructions, information and invoices
- Maintain accurate balances through collection of client transactions and following opening and closing procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills and an exceptional level of communication in a professional manner.
- Advocate for pets through client education.
- Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets and other teammates.
- Treat all clients, pets, and fellow employees with empathy, compassion, and respect.
Responsibilities / Qualifications:
- Knowledge of standard office/business equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Some knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Flexible schedule.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, but also takes direction well.
- Using critical thinking skills to identify alternative solutions or approaches to find resolutions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage stressful situations.
