Role Description
We’re looking for a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to be the welcoming face of James Landing Veterinary Hospital. This part-time, on-site position, with the option to move to full-time, is ideal for an experienced receptionist eager to take ownership of their role, contribute to our supportive team, and help us provide excellent service for pets and their families. The Veterinary Receptionist will be responsible for managing front desk operations, client communications, scheduling, and helping to streamline the clinic’s daily workflow.
Responsibilities
- Welcome clients warmly, check patients in and out, and handle inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email. Offer support and guidance to pet owners with empathy and professionalism.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar to maximize efficiency and ensure timely care.
- Handle billing, payment processing, and provide clients with transparent explanations of services.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans, follow-ups, and client communications.
- Assist the clinical team with organizational tasks, inventory, and other duties that contribute to efficient daily operations.
Key Qualifications
Required Experience
- Previous experience in a veterinary or medical receptionist role.
Communication Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and colleagues.
Organizational Skills
- Detail-oriented, with excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Computer Proficiency
- Comfortable using scheduling and management software. (Experience with Eazyvet is a plus, as our hospital is transitioning from Cornerstone to Eazyvet.)
Team-Oriented
- Ability to work collaboratively with a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Prior experience in a veterinary or medical setting.
- Familiarity with Cornerstone or Eazyvet software is a plus.
