We are excited to announce that we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Veterinary Inventory Manager to oversee inventory operations and equipment management across both of our state-of-the-art hospitals in Bonita Springs and Fort Myers, FL.
What You’ll Do:
As the Veterinary Inventory Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our veterinary practice runs smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the management of medical supplies and equipment, pharmaceuticals, and other essential inventory items. You'll collaborate with our veterinary professionals, suppliers, and vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure a seamless workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, maintain, and organize medical and non-medical inventory across two hospital locations.
- Keep detailed and accurate inventory records.
- Monitor stock levels, anticipate needs, and place timely orders to ensure the availability of critical supplies.
- Analyze inventory usage and track trends to minimize waste.
- Conduct regular cycle counts, audits, and inventory reports to track usage and ensure accuracy.
- Oversee the purchasing, maintenance, and repair of hospital equipment, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and operational.
- Work closely with clinical and administrative teams to forecast supply and equipment needs based on hospital activity.
- Ensure compliance with proper handling, storage, and documentation of all inventory, including controlled substances.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality of care.
- Coordinate with vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Assist in the implementation of new systems or processes to improve efficiency in inventory and equipment management.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in inventory and equipment management in a veterinary or medical setting is required.
- Experience working within a veterinary specialty and emergency hospital is preferred.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple responsibilities, and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with veterinary medical supplies, equipment, and their maintenance is a plus.
- Proficient in inventory management software including Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with Cubex and ezyVet is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
