Veterinary Assistant - Trinity Veterinary Hospital - NC - Encore Vet Group

Trinity Veterinary Hospital is a busy veterinary practice in Greenville, NC. We’re growing and would love for you to join us as a Veterinary Assistant. We’re a family focused hospital with a positive culture that is looking to expand our wonderful team. On-the-job training is provided.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

• Keeping clear medical records of all animals attended to at the clinic, and answering all inquiries made by clients at the front desk.
• Carrying out laboratory testing of blood, fecal, urine and other specimens.
• Ensuring that animals are well prepared for surgery and medical examination.
• Administering medication to patients.
• Ensuring that all surgical instruments, kennels, and the hospital environment are clean, and sanitized to prevent contamination.
• Handling and safely restraining patients during visit to the hospital.
• Working with the Credentialed Veterinary Technicians to instruct pet owners on how to administer medications to their animals at home.
• Monitoring patients after surgical procedures to ensure that they are recuperating, and reporting negative changes observed to the veterinarian.
• Educating pet owners on treatment, surgical procedures, and medication for their pets at the guidance of the veterinarian.
