Neel Veterinary Hospital is now hiring for full-time veterinary assistants to join our team!
We are searching for individuals with veterinary care experience who are excited to learn, work well on a team, enjoy a fast-paced climate, and place patient care as the most important aspect of their role. Our 24 hour hospital offers a variety of caseload, including exotic patients. This role would be for our general practice department.

Our 24 hour hospital offers a variety of caseload, including exotic patients. This role would be for our general practice department.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Patient handling and restraint
- Medication administration & filling prescriptions
- Assisting other team members and our Veterinarians, as needed
- Venipuncture and administering drugs (IV, SQ, Oral)
- Assists with radiographic procedures
- Perform diagnostic blood, urine, and fecal testing
- Admitting and discharging patients
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- High school diploma or GED required
- Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience in general practice
- Surgical and dental experience
- Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It’s okay if you talk to animals, too!)
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
- Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
