JOB SUMMARY: Primary point of contact, facilities and technical support person, and MCASD representative for all internal and external events occurring on MCASD properties. Support mission and vision of Museum throughout performance of duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE: Ability to successfully execute events of all scopes and scale. Knowledge of event production practices and industry standards. Knowledge of operation of audio/visual equipment. Experience with various types of performance and special events, including lectures, film, video, PowerPoint presentations, stage productions, concerts, and receptions. Ability to provide a high level of customer service with vendors and clients. Ability to make quick decisions and work well under pressure. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain professional decorum and interact with all levels of employees, members, trustees, and donors. Strong technical and administrative skills preferred, with a proficiency MS Office. Two years recent, relevant experience in event production coordination, stage management, or related field, or any equivalent education and experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Act as a steward of the facility for all Museum and rental events, serving as house manager, vendor liaison, and client contact during events and programs.
- Provide on-site support during internal and external events, ensuring adherence to standardized policies and procedures during load in/load out, the run of the evening, and while operating on MCASD property.
- Serve as point of contact with the client in the days leading up to a rental event, facilitating final venue walk through, and ensuring accuracy of timelines, layouts, and vendor instructions.
- Work closely with the security, facilities, registrars, and art handling departments to safeguard and protect the Museum’s art collection, exhibitions, and facility during events.
- Conduct and direct custodial duties as needed during events, including spill maintenance and OSHA.
- Maintain and operate in-house event audio-visual equipment, including sound system, light programming, and projection equipment.
- Provide set-up support for in-house event equipment per the ground plan, when needed, for internal events.
- Move and set-up equipment weighing up to 50-100 pounds, occasionally in confined spaces.
- Ladder and lift work including heights of 15-20+ feet.
- Support outdoor events in all weather conditions (rain, cold/hot temperatures).
- Ensure smooth coordination of caterer and all sub-contractors for rental events.
- Ensure regular upkeep and testing of the Museum’s A/V systems, including video conferencing system, audio playback, and amplification systems.
- Work multiple night, weekend, and holiday shifts with some office hours to coordinate scheduling and planning, with alternate shifts (shift changes) and/or locations.
- Drive to various local Museum locations and external vendors as needed.
- Complete reports following events.
- Actively problem solve throughout performance of duties.
- Perform routine office and administrative tasks as needed.
- Follow policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Special Environment Factors: Office located in basement setting, working off site, working in storge spaces, working at heights, and working in confined locations.
