Position Overview:
The credit union is seeking a responsible, hardworking and safety-conscious candidate to join our team for a unique dual-role position as our primary driver/operator/maintainer of a 2020 mid-sized Freightliner truck which is designed and configured as an advertising and member engagement tool for our driver to not only utilize by themselves regularly, but also in collaboration with several departments for their scheduled event needs, as they will require driver's participation in safely bringing the vehicle and operating it at various venues in the area to enhance and support their initiatives as well as the organization's. When not driving the vehicle, candidate will support the Administrative Services department in a variety of duties spanning facilities, security and administration. Ultimately, we are looking for an enthusiastic team player who is highly reliable, has experience with and a track record of safely driving larger vehicles including trucks/SUVs, and enjoys being behind the wheel.
Position Description
Driving and Vehicle Operation:
- Safely operate and maintain our truck for scheduled events and perform visual safety inspections.
- Utilize our navigation tools to optimize driving routes and manage transportation between venues.
- Set up/dismantle event equipment, including stairs and rails, and follow proper safety protocols.
- Manage vehicle maintenance, refueling, and cleanliness to ensure operational readiness.
- Due to the potentially wide range of events and demand by departments requesting use of the truck and the driver/operator, it is necessary to require the position to work on occasion after hours, with some Saturdays/Sundays/holidays based on event schedule and the flexibility to travel to multiple branches and/or offsite venues throughout the DC metropolitan area.
Administrative Coordination:
- Assist the Administrative Services department with facilities and security operations, including mail distribution, coordinating repairs on facilities and vehicles, and manage office supply needs.
- Act as point of contact for staff and guests, ensuring compliance with security access protocols.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires and assist with event logistics and setup.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility and grounds.
Position Requirements:
- A high school education or GED, college degree preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and compliance with traffic laws.
- DOT medical exam, and driving test is required.
- Minimum two years of experience driving larger vehicles (trucks, SUVs) and a proven track record of safe driving, experience setting up the vehicle similar to an RV a plus.
- Ability to lift fifty pounds on a regular basis to set up and breakdown the rails and stairs.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed with occasional travel throughout the DC metropolitan area.
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with staff and members positively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience in general office administration is required.
