Position: VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) Superintendent at the Samsung Plant
Location: Austin, Texas
Pay Rate: $55-$60 per hour based on experience
Hours: 50+ hours per week
United Trades of America is a labor contractor focused on skilled trades within the construction industry. We supplement a client's core staff with our quality skilled tradesmen on an as-needed basis. We are looking for a VDC Superintendent at the Samsung Plant in Austin Texas. This position reports to the VDC Lead Superintendent and will be integral part of the project team.
Responsibilities:
• Primary project lead for production (in-house or management of 3rd party) of Revit
models and deliverables
• Engage with project teams to support the creation, maintenance, and client satisfaction of
projects.
• Coordinate weekly Information Exchange across project team
• Assist in compiling weekly project team hours and tasks reports(in-house and 3rd party).
• Perform Quality Control of project BIM models
• Perform Quality Control Review of drawings and bill of materials (plans & sections,
isometric's, spool sheets, B.O.M.'s)
• Review constructability means and methods with project teams to help avert challenges
before they arise
• Review drafts of shop drawings with client
• Ability to prepare detailed 3D drawings in Revit, AutoCAD & CADmep as well as
various other design modeling and coordination software (Navisworks) formats
• Exporting Data for use by others (AutoCAD, Navis)
• Manage internal Navisworks Clash Detection/Model Coordination.
• 4D Scheduling and creation of time-line models
• Alerts Project Managers of coordination issues.
• Utilize and enforce company/client BIM procedures and policies.
• Maintain project BIM document archive and retrieval for projects
• Maintain project BIM files in accordance with company/client procedures
• Assist in the development of personnel who work under them
• Work on-site for duration of project.
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5+ Years experience in BIM, 3D modeling, construction technology, or related field.
• Superior knowledge of BIM technologies with an understanding of its direction and
impact on the AEC industry.
• Experience with virtual project collaboration technologies
• Relevant and current knowledge of current BIM related systems and infrastructure
• Knowledge of BIM as it applies to construction work packaging, construction planning &
sequencing
• Understanding of project workflows (schematic design, design development, construction
documentation phases) and basic project management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, clearly and effectively communicate
with all levels of the organization
• Experience with current and prior versions of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other
design technologies
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university majoring in Engineering,
Architecture, or Construction Management preferred (not required)
• Management and/or project management experience (not required)
• MEP+ firm experience
• Experience participating on multi-discipline project work-teams
• Ability to work independently and effectively within the team environment to encourage
creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Self-directed and self-motivated to solve problems quickly and creatively
• Strong, self-motivated work ethic with ability to be effective and timely while providing
consistent follow up
• Willingness to work on-site for duration of project.
